...at a music festival in the middle of no where. ^This is what kills me about the price. I'm sorry but I really don't think that the WMC is a good comparison for little 'ol EFF. I did WMC in 07 for the first and last time and was totally taken aback by the prices on everything. "Yes, I'd like a water plz." "That'll be $15" "..." I'd be curious to know what their normal day-to-day prices are for those suites. I'd bet there's some serious hyper-inflation going on. Thinking about it a little more, the $475 for the village doesn't sound too bad. I would consider doing that if it appealed to me. As it stands, I don't want to be separated from my peeps and I want to indulge in the chaos that is the lot. This is very much the point I am trying to make. People hammer on VIP almost universally thinking that I am paying for a shower. That annoys the hell out of me... Please don't be. That is def not my intent. Again, to be clear... Now, I'm not criticizing anyone who does decide to go that route. To each their own. I think the price that they are asking for the suites is ridiculous, but I'm not judging anyone who might be renting. I understand that it's all relative to how much you're willing to spend and how important it is to you. I'm going to treat everyone the same - as well as I know how to. To me, the amenities and maybe finding out where some secret sets are, where artists are staying, etc. is not worth it. Different perspectives.

bonnaroo.com/totalaccess/Default.aspxWe priced this at $12,000-$15,000 per bus if I recall. The problem that you run into is price points. You can say condo is over priced but if I lower the price on condo I have to lower it on "MEgatent", VIP and GA or Condo and Megatent will be the same price and people who got the lesser of the two will be pissed. The truth of the condos is like the cabins in 2008 they are a commodity that artists will put on their riders for friends/family, Certain "guests and employees will access then a limited handful will be available to the public. I have never seen a problem with offering things at ridiculous prices though and seeing if people will bite at it. Its just business you can always try. $300,000 to give Kang a lap dance.

$300,000 to give Kang a lap dance. Do not want, but my wife might bite. Now, if you can get your hands on one of his sleeveless shirts and a top hat I might be interested in an exchange of sorts.

Doing the Back40 campground at eff, for us older folks it is worth it for the extras - we did both Lucky Lake and the Village at Roth 09(won the tickets for the village VIP after buyin em for LL). Sounds to me like the EFF Village is where the Roth Village was in '09 - right next to(behind) the main stages which is out in the middle of a field(no shade)....... after setting up camp and staying the first night there we moved back over to Lucky Lake since we did not want to be out in the middle of a field and since the rest of our crew was over there - shame there is no Lucky Lake this year but since it is a smaller fest it is understandable(I am sure Don at Lucky Lake did not help this either last year). Have to say I agree that the cabins/log homes are overpriced - $800-900 on top of the Back40 Campground cost for a cabin or log home for each person - not real impressed with that, if it was a flat amount per cabin/log home maybe, but since I live in a log home anyway it does not have the luster it may have for others If you had 8 people in the cabin(maximum) that is $6400 for 4 nights in a cabin(early night is 1000 - so that would make it $7400 for 5 nights........... similarly with the log home with 10 people(max) it is approx 9000 for 4 nights or 10,000 for 5 nights(OUUUUUUUUUCH) Frontier price is a little better but for us the extras at the Back40 look better than those at the Frontier(not golfers)

I am doing general admission this year for Electric Forest. But for Rothbury 09 I got the Lucky Lake Good Life tickets and I have to admit, it was baller as fuck! lol. We litterally got the VIP treatment. The air conditioned bathrooms are luxurious and smell like cologne. So So So much nicer than a nasty port-a-poty. The air-conditioned showers were really nice too! There was a cool little hang out area with free breakfast every morning. The food was really good too. The organic coffee they had there was the best coffee I have ever had. And we had a really spacious campsite right on the lake. It was so nice. I can actuallly pinpoint my campsite in this picture....

We went VIP in 08 and 09 and had a really great time. they had a lounge area set up near maplewoods that was a nice place to chill. they handed out free water, gatorade and red bull. we used the bus to the odean - not sure that they'll be doing that this year, but it was a real time-saver. they offered free (+tip i assume) back massages by clean, competent looking ladies in one of the stage tents. and, yes, i really appreciated the clean, real bathrooms and showers. You can't put a price on shakin' a clean ass on the fourth day of a festival.

not having your backpack chec... er... Priceless. uh nevermind. :::waves hand::: This isn't the backpack you're looking for I agree with both of you! I love being able to walk around more freely. I also love the hand wave jedi mind trick. pulled THAT one at the metal detector at strat tower. guard went to open my cigarette box which was in the plastic tray. i grabbed them out of his hands and said, 'not these' and gave him the look, and he waved me through. my girl now contends he thought i had an engagement ring in there, but i prefer to think of it as the mind trick.

Read more: electricforest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=random&action=display&thread=47&page=2#ixzz1GAmo71e1This is exactly why i did go with frontier. I looked up the same room for the same amount of days with a golf n waterpark access at the double JJ and it was almost $1000. so its not to bad on the price in my head plus this is my one fest for the year and my one vacation. Im not to much of a golfer but Ive done festivals and spoiling yourself once Im sure is something I wont regret. As long as everyone is happy n has a great time n positive vibes this will be the best fest

I would if they would of announced it first but I didnt wanna wait and the have them say oh fest is in august and missed out on a condo for EF. First come first serve ya know. Plus I missed both rothbury fests and I cant pass up another fest at the double JJ ive heard so much about and the forest. Trust me it was a very hard choice but I think phish might loose out on some phans for a fest waiting so long to announce. I mean they have a big crowd that will follow but I find it a little messed up to do a fest that same weekend only a few hours away

How long do they expect people to wait? if it's really happening they are EFFing stupid for waiting so long. I don't know....I think this whole "announcement schedule" is more orchestrated than those of us who don't work in the scene realize. Many of the folks who work with Phish also have ties elsewhere and this MAY be a case of a delicate dance.....just this Jedi's opinion. The scene has really evolved over the years, as music and the economy has changed. Now more than ever, if you're not "working together" (or blindly making decisions about your event without taking other factors into consideration), a set up for failure is almost guaranteed (ie - Lucky Lake's attempted fest last summer) Again, just my opinion, based on what I've seen thus far.....

hopefully its a trick and its in august that would be awesome. I really dont think they would try n pull it on the same weekend they know better. Plus they obviously know the economy is bad n ppl arent pissing money so you have to give fans some notice to get money for it.

Nice picture Forest Dweller. I was checking the last Roth map & comparing them to where the vip campground was. I would think they wont have any big changes from this. What I wondered if you walked to the venue how long does it take? Also how often the the bus stop there? Thanks for any info.

What I wondered if you walked to the venue how long does it take? Also how often the the bus stop there? Thanks for any info. I think if they end up with a significantly smaller crowd they might make some changes to the campground. Got to think the cost of prepping the maplewoods for camping might be proportionately higher than mowing a field. It would make for shorter walks and tighten up the amount of land they need to lease, groom, and secure. A well placed source on here has opined that they might use the old odeon field for VIP camping. Point is, if they go with a smaller footprint it may change camping as much as anything. The bus came through every 15 minutes, more often during peak hours. The walk from the VIP was as short as the closest GA, but went much quicker because of the respect afforded good lifers by the security team. It was 5-7 minutes from our tent to the tripolee.

There might be different fests as far as experience; holidaze, jamcruise. But for a camping fest, EFF will be the shit. Especially for Good Lifers.
