Hammocks in the Sherwood Forest are a must! And I'm going to be bringing my own this year so i know I'll always have a hammock to swing in, in the Forest.
Anyone got any good recomendations? Links? Or things to look for when buying a hammock? Should I buy one from a vendor at the festival?
I've never owned/bought one before.

I bought one at wakarusa and i found any excuse to set mine up where ever i go

My girl and I rock ENO's. They are pretty amazing. Lightweight as hell and they pack up into a little bag that remains attached to the hammock so you can't lose it while tripping your nuts off in the forest. A must have for EFF.
They aren't very pretty though, I wish they had some tripper looking ones for hippies and the such.

Is there a 'roof' on it or something? Couldn't figure out what was going on in the pictures I found. This is definitely something to consider.

Ha, I've got a camo green hammock I got for my birthday from a buddy one year. The only problem - I look like a giant baby turd in a soiled diaper in it.
Comfortable, but humiliating.

nice thing about the army navy is you can use it as a wookie net.

Yes there is a roof you can buy for it in the accessories as well as other nice add ons. Cant wait to bust mine out as soon as the weather breaks.

I'm bringing my own hammock this year, I do not want to run the risk of falling into the haunted hammock in the forest from 2009. Yeah... There was a haunted hammock... or I was seeing shit.... which is entirely possible.
I was chillin in the hammock when all the goodies ingested hit me. At that point, the paranoia set in and it felt like everybody was looking at me. So I wrapped myself up in a like a cocoon in the hammock. After I calmed down, I emerged from the cocoon, I saw two little girls standing next to me, the oldest no more than 15 years old, and they looked like they were glowing an off white color. Little odd. So I asked one of them if they had the time... and her reosponse was... slowly...
"I stopped wearing a watch after my sister died"
... then put her arm around the girl next to her like they were sisters. At that very moment, I jumped out of the hammock and RAN back to my campsite. RAN!
It was either one heck of a well timed joke, some great caps or the hammock was haunted. I prefer to assume it was haunted LOL!
Can't wait to go back to the forest and excersise these demons ha!!

I replaced my bed with a hammock a while back. At first I was using a small/cheap parachute hammock. Cheapest one on ebay. It started to cause me a lot of back pain, so I researched a little more and found out that mayan style hammocks are best for sleeping in on the regular.
So I ordered one from seasidehammocks.com and just got it yesterday. After just one night my back feels much better, but time will tell.
Whatever kind you decide to get, be sure to get at least a double size. The more room to sprawl around in, the more comfortable you will be. The parachute kind are great because they are durable AND compact. The weaved kind (mayan) are much more comfortable, but they are also more delicate, and if you ever see them at fests they will always be torn up and have big holes in their weave where some spunion stuck their foot through the thing.
another really important thing. USE PROPER STRAPS TO HANG YOUR HAMMOCK. I made this mistake last november and fell like 3 feet onto my back when the strap broke. I'm still suffering from back pain because of this mistake. Choose STRONG ROPE, and use STRONG CAREBEENERS. You WILL regret it otherwise.
